Asteatotic or wintertime dry eczema
This kind of Eczema usually occurs in cold weather and is caused by a reduction of natural oils in the body. During winters, when the humidity is low, and people tend to sit too close to the heater or radiator, the skin begins to dry and crack. Sometimes Asteatotic Eczema is very often seen in old people who tend to develop dry skin as they age. This kind of Eczema usually affects the lower legs, arms and hands and is sometimes seen in the abdomen area as well. The shins are particularly susceptible to this kind of Eczema. Regular greasing of the skin with a good quality cream or oil goes a long way in preventing and treating this Eczema.
